My little princess has become a pro at traveling. Living within a couple hours drive of the ocean and having all of my family living a state away means that we travel a lot with a baby.
The first time that we took a family vacation to the beach, baby Gigi was only 9 weeks old. Since then, she has been to the beach several more times and ventured down to Virginia to meet my family. Through our travels, we have learned what items are “must haves” when traveling with a baby and what items are not worth the hassle…or the space in the car. I have decided to include some of these “must have” travel tips in the Mom Life section of Lipstick and Kettlebells for all those parents apprehensive about traveling with a little one.
Gigi is now 14 months old and even though she can sit, crawl, stand and motor all over the place, she still prefers to lay back and relax in the bathtub. Water safety is SUPER important to me, because quite frankly you read so many horror stories about babies and water that I have an healthy concern when it comes to water…including baths.
Our problem was simple, Gigi did not want to sit up in the big bathtub and her infant tub simply took up to much space in the car to be packed. This is when my Mom came to the rescue last week. During her monthly shopping trip to a popular wholesale store, she ran across a small box that contained an inflatable infant bathtub. For under $15, she walked away with the perfect solution for our bath time situation.
Tonight, I huffed and puffed for a short time and blew up the pink Minnie Mouse themed bathtub. It contained inflated sides, inflated bottom for baby’s comfort, inflatable pillow, a temperature indicator, and 2 cup holders perfect to store baby wash, toys, or a rinse cup, and a suction cup so that you can hang it in the shower to dry after bath time.
This was a hit. Baby loved it and splashed about happily and safely. Even though we will only use it as a travel bathtub, it can be repurposed for a baby splash pool, play area for the beach, or ball pit. I look forward to deflating the tub and pack it up to store until next trip. My only wish was that Mom had found this travel tub last year so I could have used it longer.
If you agree that this is a great idea and would like to grab one for your little one, check out my links below. Amazon has the same tub in a variety of Disney characters, so you can match your tub with your baby’s interests.
